Meeting Minutes: June 11, 2018

The June meeting of the Brattleboro Camera Club was held at Vermont Center for Photography on June 11, 2018. There were 19 in attendance.
John Taylor led our meeting and mentioned that the exhibit at Mocha Maya in Shelburne Falls, Mass is up and may be viewed through the end of July.

There were six members at the photo walk in Bellows Falls. The images from that walk will be hung on Tuesday, July 3 at 10:00 am at Café 7 on the Square in Bellows Falls. It will run through the month of July.

The grist mill museum in Bellows Falls has kindly offered us an opportunity to shoot both floors of the building, allowing total access and the ability to bring lighting. Please let us know if there is any interest.

The theme of the month was ‘high-key’ and ‘low-key.’ Several images were shown and more may be offered at the July meeting. The June images may be viewed on the BCC website. July’s theme is “imitate a master.’

Our guest speaker was John Green from Belchertown, Mass. John is an interpretive naturalist and photographer who shared slides and descriptions of his travels throughout North America and the National Parks. He started with Newfoundland, Acadia, White Mountains, Denali, Glacier National Park, Death Valley, and the Everglades. Along with the iconic landscapes, he shared shots of animals including mountain goats, birds, moose, bison, insects, and much more. His narration was educational and conveyed his love and respect for nature. He finished with captures of landscapes, flowers, and wildlife near his home in Massachusetts. John is available to present slide programs, photo walks, and workshops.

Member Debbie Rittall’s stunning image "Rusian" has been selected by the New England Camera Club Council as a submission to the PSA Council Challenge chosen at the Photographic Society of America’s annual convention. Congratulations, Debbie! Her photo can be seen here: Contest Entries
